About Us
Safari Foods Holding started in 1999 from humble beginnings in Burnaby, BC by three South African families.
Six years later, we have expanded into a larger factory, are now a fully equipped manufacturing bakery (still taking pride in the hand-made quality of our products) and our processes all adhere to strict food safety standards.
Initially, the company concentrated on producing Savoury Gourmet Pies, a “must have” favourite in countries such as South Africa, Australia, New Zealand and England. While we currently produce 18 different pie recipes in three different sizes, we expanded our product range in 2002 to include South African originated meat products, including 3 different types of Boerewors (Regular, Beef and Garlic flavoured), Pork Sausage, Biltong (Beef Jerky), Droewors (Dried Sausage) and dessert items with Melktert, Brandy Tarts, Melva Tarts and Koeksisters.
In keeping with our business strategy to continually expand and innovate our product range, we introduced Gourmet Quiches in 2003, which were an instant success and are now an integral part of our business.
A key formula to part of our success is working closely with specific clients to develop and perfect their own “custom range of pies and quiches” which are produced exclusively for them. We have a great team of wonderfully dedicated staff, who continue the principles of our product, maintaining its high quality and consistency, with a strong commitment to innovation.
Our Burnaby location also hosts a retail outlet where a full range of South African Products, as well as our pies and quiches, are available. We welcome our wholesale customers to visit and inspect our premises, which we take pride in for its cleanliness and adaptability.
At Safari Foods we are passionate about our product line and the service and relationships we develop with you, our valued customer.
